Hi there! I’m Shoban, and I have been a physiotherapist for over 12 years, all of which I have spent working in Singapore. I graduated from King’s College London in 2012 and made the decision to move from London to Singapore to start my career. It was a bit of a crazy idea, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I began working at Changi General Hospital before transitioning into private practice in 2015, where I have worked in several different clinics. In 2020, I co-founded my own clinic and grew it into a thriving multidisciplinary musculoskeletal and return to sports centre. I recently stepped away from that business venture because I realised my true passion lies in working directly with patients.
I am particularly interested in treating hips, knees and ankles, and I am incredibly passionate about helping amateur and professional footballers get back to the game. I firmly believe that there is a version of football for everyone, regardless of age, injury or circumstance, and I am here to help you keep playing. It genuinely concerns me when patients feel they need to give up the game due to injuries or age because I know there is a way for everyone to continue enjoying football.
“Excellence is not a singular act, but a habit. You are what you repeatedly do.”
My experience as a football physiotherapist is extensive. I have worked with Hougang United in the SPL and AFC from 2022-2024, and I am currently with Tampines Rovers for the 2024-2025 season. My role involves caring for injured players, covering training, and being one of the guys who runs onto the pitch during match days if a player goes down.
Beyond the realms of work, I am a dad to an active toddler who keeps me on my toes. When I am not spending time with my family or playing football, you can find me enjoying anything football-related—whether it’s FM, FPL, or catching up on the latest Fantasy or Science Fiction books.
